Description
A heavenly new perennial which has added both brilliant, crimson colour and zesty scent to the Cutting Garden. I cannot get enough of the fresh, citrusy aroma of the foliage on a warm day. The bees definitely agree! Keep deadheading its incredible, fluffy flowers and it will bloom continuously from early summer through to autumn.
Bee-balm leaves and flowers are edible. The leaves can be used to make tea and the flowers to add flavour and texture to salads and soups.
Care Tips
Deadhead regurlarly to prolong flowering. Mulch with well rotted compost in spring and divide every 3/4 years to avoid congestion.
