We are looking for a full time Production Manager based at our offices in Marlborough.


ROLE OVERVIEW


 To coordinate the production of all digital and print content, coordinating across all internal functions and external resource, to ensure streamlined, timely and well managed delivery. Such content will include (but not limited to), seasonal catalogue, web copy, digital and print advertising, photography. 


Reporting to: Head of Content and Creative


Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling
    • Produce manage, and maintain all critical paths
    • Coordinating with all internal and external stakeholders, to ensure timings are optimised and deliverable. Internal stakeholders will include buying, merchandising, marketing, and the directors. External stakeholders may include, copywriters, designers, artworkers, photographers, stylists and videographers
    • Ensure critical paths are distributed to all parties, updated where necessary and adhered to
    • Monitor processes and suggest changes to improve effective work flow as required
  • Traffic management
    • Manage the workflow of all catalogue and print production, as well as web ensuring all parties deliver against the critical path 
    • Ensuring all amends are actioned across all artwork
    • Responsible for creative briefs, that they are delivered on time and to an excellent standard
    • Have ultimate responsibility for ensuring that all work is delivered on time and in line with the schedule
  • Photography & Videography
    • Coordinate all hardware photography shoots, including venue hire, stylist booking, coordinating with photographer and managing the shoot on the day
    • Work with photographers and the team to ensure all images have been requested and invoiced for correctly
    • Coordinate the filming and editing of all video content.
    • Asset management
    • Ensure all content assets are effectively managed and easily accessible. In the future this is likely to be through a PIM and DAM application.
    • Be an integral part of the project team introducing the PIM and a DAM, ensuring all company needs are met in this area.

Skills and experience:

  • Microsoft Excel – intermediate / advanced 
  • Proven project management skills
  • Experience of catalogue / brochure print production
  • Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to develop a wide range of effective relationships and influence others

We are looking for a full time Head of Buying based at our offices in Marlborough.


ROLE OVERVIEW

The Head of Buying will work closely with the founders to own the buying strategy and range expansion. You will be responsible for spearheading the Brand values and leading a team to deliver the buying strategy ensuring commercial success. Collaborating with other teams is key to the role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the founders to develop the buying strategy, build new ranges and products that are consistent with the Sarah Raven Brand Values
  • Lead & motivate a buying team of 9 to implement the buying strategy and company vision
  • Working closely with the Head of Merchandising (HoM) to drive sales and increase margin
  • Responsible for the seasonal range strategy which delivers against the KPI’s, and been able to communicate this effectively to the wider company
  • Responsible for updating the Board with new range plans and range performance
  • Identify competitor activity and trends in the marketplace whilst keeping the SR customer at the core of everything we do
  • Streamline processes and critical paths to improve efficiency
  • Steer the buying team to think digitally first
  • Liaise with other internal stakeholders, including merchandising, creative and performance marketing, finance and operations, to optimise brand values, sales, & profitability
  • Develop excellent supplier relationships in line with the strategic plan. Responsible (with HoM) for negotiating key supplier T&C’s
  • Ensure our website and all printed media showcases the Sarah Raven product with analysis-informed commerciality 
  • Work with the Head of Merchandising to ensure excellent inter team collaboration 


Requirements:

  • Previous experience at Head of Buying or Senior Buyer level, with management responsibility for a medium sized team
  • Good horticultural knowledge and experience of buying within a horticultural environment
  • Proven experience in looking for new opportunities to grow business and attract and engage new customers
  • Excellent leader, with strong organisational skills, ability to influence, a real team player
  • Ideally have worked in a buying team within e-commerce and analytically driven retail environments
  • Strong brand awareness & customer focused
  • Experience of working closely with and building supplier relationships
  • A good communicator with excellent internal and external stakeholder management
  • Attention to detail, discerning eye and a taste level in line with the Brand
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and embraces change as a positive
  • Excellent negotiation skills & commercially savvy

ROLE OVERVIEW

 

We are looking for a full time Junior Merchandiser based at our offices in Marlborough. This is initially a 1 year contract.

The role would be ideal for someone highly numerate with a strong analytical skillset, demonstrable problem solving and creative thinking abilities as well as strong communication skills. This may suit someone who is currently at assistant level looking to step up.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Work closely with buyers to assist in the planning of product ranges
  • Managing budgets with the guidance of Senior Merchandiser
  • Detailed sales forecasting to maximise sales and profit according to the category strategy
  • Controlling stock levels within budgets using a WSSI
  • Supplier management
  • Ensuring data integrity in our catalogue planning spreadsheets


 SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Several years of merchandising experience to include knowledge of WSSI's
  • Good communication and motivation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and be highly analytical
  • Commercially aware and proactive
  • Ability to work over several seasons at a time and several catalogues

ROLE OVERVIEW

 

We are looking for a Senior Merchandiser to work in our horticulture team, based at our offices in Marlborough. The position is initially for 1 year of maternity cover.


The role would be ideal for someone who has experience of fulfilling a leadership role within a strong merchandising background. You will be highly numerate with a strong analytical skillset, demonstrable problem solving and creative thinking abilities as well as strong communication skills. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Leading a team of merchandisers to achieve strong availability and accurate forecasting
  • Liaising with our nursery and our office team to ensure a smooth despatch season
  • Managing stock levels through accurate forecasting and promotional activity
  • Working with buyers to suggest, source and confirm additional stock to maintain availability
  • Ensuring data integrity in both our planning spreadsheets and stock keeping systems
  • Building strong and productive relationships with suppliers

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  •  A minimum of five years' experience in a merchandising role or similar, ideally with a strong forecasting background
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Be highly analytical with advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Commercially aware and proactive
  • Able to produce high quality work independently
  • Horticultural knowledge would be of benefit, but not essential

ROLE OVERVIEW


Responsible for horticultural research and copy writing for product descriptions, website content and marketing copy to promote our products and services. Coordinating the general management of horticultural information throughout the business, across all internal functions and external resource, to ensure streamlined, timely and well managed delivery. The role will require confident horticultural knowledge base, experienced proof reading skills, as well as the ability to re-structure and edit articles by other content writers when required. 


Reporting to: Head of Content and Creative

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Horticultural Content Management

  •  Guardian of horticultural information across the business, managing and maintaining the central horticultural information spreadsheet
  • Responsible for the consistency and accuracy of all information and advice across all channels, ensuring all customer advice and instructions are correct and consistent

Product Research, Copy Writing & Proof reading

  • Researching and completing horticultural horticultural information for new lines
  • Feeding all horticultural amends through the art working process to the web team
  • Creating new horticultural content for the website as requested from the marketing or buying teams, ensuring it is correct, clear, and useful to customers
  • Proof reading all printed media prior to design checks, including, but not limited to: seasonal catalogues, product descriptions, packaging, press, marketing, and promotional material and emails.

Reporting to: Chief Commercial Officer


Job objectives:

  1. Coach, develop (recruit if necessary) and manage a team of specialists to optimise performance marketing (2021 total budget £5.6m), including customer acquisition, customer retention, and conversion rate optimisation across all marketing channels and mediums that Sarah Raven utilises.
  2. Apply data driven insights to drive performance marketing strategies across all channels
  3. Using best practice digital and analogue techniques and methodologies, recruit the maximum number of new customers possible within the business allowable cost per new customer (2021 target new customers: 190,000). 
    1. Analogue channels to include optimising the use of display and insert advertising in print media, cold list direct mail and third party collaborations
    2. Digital channels to include organic and paid search, social media, display and any other method of economically finding potential customers.
  4. Using best practice techniques, drive profitable sales from existing customers managing a highly evolved customer centric CRM program that utilises catalogues, e-mail, search, social and display advertising. Success to be measured by spend growth, profitability and retention of active customers, and reactivation of inactive customers.
  5. Ensure a market leading customer experience on the Sarah raven website. Drive a culture of consistent testing and learning to optimise user journeys with relevant personalised content, seeking to improve conversion across all devices and for all customer cohorts/journeys.
  6. Ensure that the required reporting and analytics are in place to facilitate full evaluation of all campaigns and test programmes, and provide business wide sales forecasting built around customer metrics.

Skills required:


  • Proven leadership skills and a track record of driving revenues and best practices in a B2C environment
  • Significant knowledge and track-record of successfully executing performance marketing campaigns at scale
  • Experience across all digital marketing channels (display, paid social, paid search, programmatic, SEO, email)
  • A track record of managing teams, budgets and resources in a fast moving environment
  • Ability to utilise external agency expertise to meet strategic priorities, ensuring effective direction to meet specific objectives within the agreed budget
  • The ability to build strong relationships at all business levels, up to C-level

Your role would be to deal with queries from our customers regarding their orders, deliveries, or just general advice.

This role is 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm
