At Perch Hill we like to plant them on top of autumn planted bulb pots, as they can make containers look much more exciting over winter. Their edible flowers can be used for decorating cakes, salads, adding to cocktails and much more besides. Viola plants thrive in cool conditions, which makes them ideal for shady gardens. In the shelter of a town garden, the larger-flowered pansies can flower right through the winter.
