Cultivation
Create a shallow planting hole 15-20cm deep and wider than the roots. Position the crown on a mound of coarse grit, sharp sand or soil, with the central growing point just below soil surface. Space about 1m apart and mark positions with canes.

I SO want more foxtail lilies in the garden here — to me undoubtedly the most magnificent of all summer bulbs. They’ve been a struggle on our heavy clay soil, but we’ve finally conquered them, planting with exceptionally good drainage to rocket up like a firework in early summer.
