This is the kind of planting we rely on at Perch Hill to bring lasting colour, scent and structure to sheltered, sun-baked corner, and it's perfect for a courtyard or pot-packed terrace
Alongside soft pink dahlias and velvety spires of the salvias we've picked a robust lavender and verbenas that both offer drought-tolerant floweriness and attract bees. It's a combination that shows just enough froth and movement.
Plant in full sun, in free-draining soil or containers with added grit. Feed and deadhead regularly to keep the show going from late spring through to the first frosts — just as we do at Perch Hill.
