Description

The somewhat unfortunately named 'Toad Lily' has beautiful, star-like flowers similar to those you'd see on the most exotic orchids. So you might expect this to be a delicate plant but in fact it's fully hardy and requires just a bit of care in winter. It will do well in a partly shady or woodland settings, and will gently colonise over time.

Care Tips

Grow in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil in deep or partial shade. In cold areas, a sheltered position encourages flowers before the first frosts. Protect from slugs and snails. May need a deep winter mulch if cold but no snow cover.
