Rhubarb is one of the best-ever, low-maintenance, and perennial, edible crops you can grow. Happy in shade, this can be tucked in to harvest where few other things will thrive. I love ‘Victoria’ for its chunky generous stems and its late cropping pattern, right into the middle of summer.

Care Tips
Don't harvest anything in the first season. Simply allow the sticks of rhubarb to die back in the first autumn. Spread organic compost around the crown in its dormant winter phase.
