Description
The best and most successful hedges contain several species which flower and fruit at differing times to provide year-round appeal and benefit for wildlife – this collection does just that and is all about providing food, shelter and nesting sites. It needs to be THICK to provide cover and safe nesting places, FLOWERY for pollinators to forage amongst from early in the year and FRUITY for hungry birds and mammals as autumn turns to winter.
Our UK grown hedging plants are supplied as cell-grown saplings ready for immediate planting into their final positions. Cell-grown plants are known to have high establishment success rates with rapid early growth and are uniform and compact in size for quick and easy planting.
This collection will cover 10m in length based on a planting density of 5 plants per metre. When planting, mix the varieties well and plant in a zig-zag style to encourage a thick and bushy hedge.
This collection contains 5 plants each of: - Oak
- Blackthorn
- Wild Pear
- Dog Rose
- Dog Wood
- Elder
- Wayfaring Tree
- Hawthorn
- Hazel
- Holly
