Description
I was brought up on the west coast of Scotland and spent much of my time through the summer holidays foraging for cockles on the beach, rowan berries on the hillside, and crab apples and blackberries from the hedgerows to turn into jams and jellies. Foraging beautiful flowers and food is — to me — one of life’s great enhancers, made even easier if you can grow the plants near to hand.
This collection contains my favourites for fruit and flowers to harvest.
Our UK grown hedging plants are supplied as cell-grown saplings ready for immediate planting into their final positions. Cell-grown plants are known to have high establishment success rates with rapid early growth and are uniform and compact in size for quick and easy planting.
This collection will cover 10m in length based on a planting density of 5 plants per metre. When planting, mix the varieties well and plant in a zig-zag style to encourage a thick and bushy hedge.
This collection contains 5 plants each of:
- Field Maple
- Crabapple
- Elder
- Holly
- Hornbeam
- Rowan
- Spindle
- Wild Cherry
- Wild Plum
