Description
A new introduction to the group of clump forming alliums. This perennial type allows you to enjoy the purple blooms of alliums beyond late spring, extending the allium season well into late summer. The nectar-rich globes are total bee magnets, provide movement in the border and a pleasant cool mauve hue. For maximum impact, run swathes of these through your beds or borders.
Allium petals are edible, you can scatter them on salads. We use the more delicate types like cowanii and unifolium most often at Perch Hill.
Care Tips
This allium is sold as small plants rather than individual bulbs. Avoid excessive moisture from late summer when dormant.
