Description
This is THE naturalising tulip par-excellence, with beautiful pointy, elegant flowers followed by almost as pretty seedpods. Throw a handful of bulbs out over the grass and plant them just where they fall, to create a sward worthy of a Persian bulb field. You can add in scillas and chionodoxas as here.

Tulip petals are all edible. We scatter them over salad and use some petals dipped in tempura batter and served with a spring garden Frito Misto. Tulip 'White Valley' is a favourite for this.
Care Tips
After flowering leave the foliage to die back naturally if you want to reuse the bulbs.
