Arranged here with Lavatera 'Dwarf Pink Blush'.

This mix contains:
Genus Antirrhinum
Group/Species majus
Variety Chantilly Light Pink F1, Chantilly Pink F1, Chantilly White F1
Type Half-Hardy Annual
Common Name Snapdragon
Border Position Middle
Soil Type Chalky, Fertile, Neutral, Sandy
Scent Scented
Site Full Sun
Moisture Moist but Well-drained
Height 90cm (35in)
Spacing 30cm (12in)
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow under cover in spring, pot on and plant out after last frosts. Or sow in autumn and overwinter for planting out in April the following year in a sheltered spot. Do not cover seed. Antirrhinum can be slow to germinate.
Care Tips Once seedlings reach 8-10cm (3-4in) the growing tip may be pinched out to encourage more side-shoots to form. Water well, support stems.

Vase Life Keep picking (not to the ground but to above a pair of leaves) and these will keep flowering for months at a time.
Harvesting Flower production: 3-4 months
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec

These plants were brought on in a greenhouse prior to planting out as in this part of Scotland it is safer not to plant out before the end of May. The plants have been stunning. Once in the border they have grown apace and bloomed and bloomed and bloomed. Loads of lovely flowers for the house and still plenty left outside making my garden look lovely. I did have a lot of breakages because of a few spells of windy weather, but I just cut them and put them in the house! I staked them in advance, because of where I live. They are still going strong as August begins.

Usually whatever I buy from you is brilliant but this has been a difficult year. Only half of the strawberry fool collection survived as did the pale zinnia collection. The tarragon took a long while to get going but is now fine and so is the chenille collection. Your service is always excellent.
