Description
‘Matucana’ and ‘Painted Lady’ were two of the first sweet peas I grew, which excelled in my first scent trials thirty years ago. I still adore them and grow them every year, but …. I must admit, their stems are, particularly by the end of season, short. That’s why I now grow and pick them in this foursome, each old-fashioned variety joined by a newly bred equivalent, with not quite the power of scent, but huge flowers and whopping stems. They make a great collection.
This collection contains 4 seedlings each of : - Lathyrus odoratus 'Matucana'
- Lathyrus odoratus 'Emilia Fox''
- Lathyrus odoratus 'Painted Lady'
- Lathyrus odoratus 'Route 66'
Care Tips
Plant seedlings out during a mild spell March-May, providing support. Tie the stems into your framework on a regular basis and pinch out tendrils.
