Chit tubers in a frost free and light place from February-March for planting in well manured soil from late March.

Description

Delicious, nutty taste like chestnuts. It did really well in our trial, producing tons of little potatoes with firm waxy flesh which does not disintegrate. Steam in skin and eat hot or cold.

Maincrops are planted between March and May with harvesting through August and September and they can be stored in the right conditions through the winter. From planting to harvest is about 5 months.

Care Tips

When the shoots first appear draw the earth from between the rows to cover them. This encourages underground shoots and more tubers. Add in lots of well rotted manure the previous autumn (not too fresh).
