Description

My youngest daughter lived in Jordan to learn Arabic a few years ago, and I visited her a couple of times, heading off in the spring to botanise almost every day. I saw a grove of fritillaries just like these and came home determined to recreate one of the most glamorous and beautiful plant sights I’ve ever seen. Here it is, with the new persica varieties bred to be reliable flowerers and perennial, coming back year on year. I know this is expensive initially but not in the context of exceptional beauty over so many years.

This collection contains 3 bulbs each of:
  • Fritillaria persica 'Magic Bells'
  • Fritillaria persica 'Twin Towers Tribute'
  • Fritillaria persica 'Green Dreams'

Care Tips

Choose a suitable location in a border that will get plenty of warm sunlight in summer, they love scorched and free-draining soil. After flowering has ended, wait until the leaves and stem turn yellow, after which it can be cut off at the base.
