Description
We grow this as much for its perfectly upright, towering bottle brush leaf spires, as its late summer flowers. Made famous by use as a bold foliage plant in the Exotic Garden at Great Dixter, I’ve grown this in our jungly Oast Garden since working at Dixter (briefly) 25 years ago.
Helianthus seeds are packed with nutrients, they're perfect for scattering on salads, or with mixed nuts on greek yoghurt for a protein-rich breakfast.
Care Tips
Cut back stems after flowering.
