Description
Three top performers in our helenium trial last summer. With all three, if you do the 'Chelsea Chop' in May, reducing a third of the stems by one third and a third by two-thirds, they flower right through summer and autumn. I love them for picking too.
This collection contains 1 plant each of: - Helenium 'Ruby Tuesday'
- Helenium autumnale 'Short and Sassy'
- Helenium 'Sahin's Early Flowerer'
Autumn is the perfect season for planting out biennials, perennials, shrubs, and climbers. Soils retain some warmth from summer and moisture levels are on the rise thanks to the autumn rains. These conditions are ideal for quick and early root establishment ensuring plants settle in before winter arrives. They will then be off to a flying start next spring with rapid growth and copious amounts of flowers.
Care Tips
Support the heavy stems with a network of hazel sticks. Keep deadheading towards the end of summer to encourage new flowers. Divide in spring or autumn.
