Description
A popular scrambling beauty so often seen in hedgerows and famed for its softly scented, pale pink flowers in summer followed by attractive orangey red hips in autumn. The flowers are loved by pollinators and the birds devour the hips.
Our UK grown hedging plants are supplied as cell-grown saplings ready for immediate planting into their final positions. Cell-grown plants are known to have high establishment success rates with rapid early growth and are uniform and compact in size for quick and easy planting.
As a guide, use 5 plants per metre length. When planting, set out in a zig-zag style to encourage a thick and bushy hedge.
Care Tips
Medium sized hedging that can be easily clipped and maintained to 1.5m. Growth rate 40 - 60cm per year.
After planting, prune hard. Prune annually to maintain shape and height – ideally in late winter when the hips have gone over.
