Dig a hole 4 times as deep as the bulb is high, the deeper the better as this will make stronger plants less likely to snap and more reliably perennial. Position on a bed of grit, on their side and backfill with plenty of grit to aid drainage.

Description

The tommasinianus crocus are the wonderful, generous ones which scatter themselves from a handful of bulbs over your lawn in just a few years. I adore these February performers for their earliness, delicacy and reliability — and here, in a rare darker than usual purple (not mauve) form.

Care Tips

Can be naturalized easily in grass but wait until the foliage has died down in June to cut the grass.
