Sow in a warm place under cover January-March in individual pots or modules. May be grown in borders or large pots, in the greenhouse or a sunny sheltered spot outside. Harden off before planting outside in summer and use cloches if nights are cold.

Description

Elegant, ostrich-egg style aubergine, which are quick-growing, heavy cropping, healthy (so suited to organic growing) and very tasty. This can be grown in a greenhouse, or in a sunny, sheltered spot.

Care Tips

Better suited to greenhouse production but if planting outside, cover with a cloche for 2 weeks to allow plants to settle in. Pinch out tips at 45cm and stake. Water well and mist flowers to help fruit set. Feed with high potash until fruits set.
