New to growing asparagus? Find out how to plant and grow asparagus crowns in Sarah's article.
Keep your asparagus bed weeded, and well fertilised. Do not harvest the spears in the first year (the plant needs time to grow out its root system), but Cut back once they start to die off in the autumn and side-dress with compost.
