Alstroemeria makes supreme cut flowers, and 'Indian Summer' is one of a new, garden-bred series of mid-height varieties. It has fiery orange-red flowers which contrast fabulously against its chocolate brown foliage. This is a superb variety which does well in a sunny or part shady spot, where it will flower continuously from May until the first frosts.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Plant out in spring. Dislikes winter wet.
Care Tips Add a slow-release fertiliser in the spring, and water regularly in dry weather. Mulch deeply in the North. Handle with gloves, so that the sap does not cause irritation. Pull from the root, like rhubarb.
