Senior Buyer

We are looking for a Senior Buyer to join a busy, friendly team at our office in Marlborough, Wiltshire, as category manager for our Seeds and Hardware ranges.

You should have excellent knowledge of the buying process and cycle of a mail order company.  Experience of producing sales analysis and range plans for key categories is essential. You will need to be well-organised, with excellent attention to detail and be able to produce detailed planning schedules for the range review process, in line with the company critical path and seasonality of ranges.

Responsibilities will include ensuring all product details are recorded and maintained accurately, and that sell prices / margins are in line with company targets.

Plus you will be required to manage the photo shoot process from start to finish following each range sign off: including shot list, brief, samples, location / set requirements.

Working with the rest of the team to optimise the supply base and build good relationships with key suppliers.

The successful applicant needs to have intermediate to advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills.

Salary dependent on experience.

Buying Administrator

We are looking for a Buying Administrator to join our team at our office in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

You will need to be well-organised, with excellent attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and to work to a critical path.

Responsibilities will include inputting product information into Excel for product set up and analysis, supporting the team in the web set up and checking process, assisting with production of product specification sheets, invoice checking, and checking product details are correct in catalogues. Knowledge of the buying process would be beneficial but not essential.

The successful applicant needs to have intermediate Excel, Word and Powerpoint skills.

Operations Manager

We are looking for an operations manager to oversee our customer service, warehouse, and 3rd party fulfilment providers. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operations manager to work for one of the fastest growing brands in the gardening sector.

With responsibility for our in-house customer service team, and our pick, pack and despatch operation, the role will cover budgeting, cost management, staff planning, managing carriers and packaging suppliers, and ensuring KPI targets are met and operational efficiencies are delivered. You will also have oversight of our third party partners:  an out of hours call centre and two fulfilment centres, including our nursery operation.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing home shopping operations, and is ready to take on a role that has significant responsibility and reports to a senior director. You will need great communications skills and the ability to build relationships with key service providers.

Other key skills will include:

  • Ability to analyse and report accurate information 
  • Hands-on mentality to solve all operational challenges 
  • High professional integrity and strong sense of responsibility 
  • Good leadership qualities and strategic thinking
