Slower to bolt than all other forms. You can cook few Oriental meals without it and we eat the flowers and green seeds in salads.
Sow little and often in the early spring and autumn, not in the hot, dry months of summer. We picked this right through the winter too last year, come frost, rain or even snow, it kept going. Highly recommended for cold weather sowing.
Please note, illustrated packets are being introduced gradually over the coming months, availability may vary.
If you have ordered these seeds, we have had unforeseen delays and they will now be available mid March. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Coriander enjoys a sunny position but appreciates a little shade during the hottest part of the day. Plants will run to seed more quickly if stressed by hot weather so this is important for leaf varieties. Coriander plants have deep tap roots so if growing in containers the pots need to be at least 25cm deep. Sow direct little and often every 4-6 weeks from late March until early September, in blocks or lines. You can speed the germination process up by sowing into a length of guttering under cover and transplanting outside. If growing for seed production, thin out to leave a 10cm (4in) gap among plants and make sure they are given a sunny site. Leaves for early winter use can be obtained by sowing seeds in the autumn, then protecting seedlings with cloches or low polythene tunnels. |
Care Tips | Pick regularly as this bolts quickly. Keep soil and compost damp, but avoid overwatering. Dry soil or compost can cause plants to bolt or flower prematurely. Plants do not normally need feeding, but the occasional liquid feed of a balanced fertiliser can be used as a pick-me-up. Do not plant near fennel as it will affect the flavour. If flowers develop remove them immediately – this ensures the plants focus their energy on growing new leaves. Plants grown for seeds should be allowed to send up long stalks carrying airy sprays of dainty white blooms, followed by peppercorn-size seeds. |
Harvesting | March-May and September-April. 4 weeks from sowing. The leaves will produce from 4-6 weeks. |
Cooking Notes | To harvest the seeds, pick the seed pod and hang upside down in a paper bag - as the seeds dry they will fall into the bag. |

The perfect quick lunch or picnic food, these tasty halloumi pittas taste fresh and have a great combination of textures.
This is an adaptation of the classic recipe with beef. It's also good with salmon, chicken or slices of sweet potato.
This is at its best with the halloumi and chorizo straight out of the pan, so get everything ready and then cook them both last.
This is step 1 in a three part series that helps anyone interested in vegetable gardening with children.
Delicious with almost any soup or with a big vat of Moules marinière.
A simple and delicious starter, perfect for spring. Almost no preparation needed – everyone helps themselves, filling their own pitta bread.
The flavour of this is fantastic, with the curry paste freshly made and the veg all roasted before it's dressed in its sauce for extra flavour.

Reviewed 20th April 2020 by Tricia Efficient service. Everything arrives well packed and plants are heLthy. |
Reviewed 24th November 2019 by Christine This is the very best I have grown and never want to be without. The flavour is fantastic and the plant never fails. I buy it every year. About 5 or 6 packs. Hope it will always be available Sarah please? |
Reviewed 16th August 2019 by Jenny More often than not the plants are in good condition. The service is good, the packing is excellent, information valued, presentation in catalogues and emails is inspiring. My one star short of five is simply that I think for the price I have found some plants not viable in long run and for the price I feel they should be. |

Seedlings arrived in the usual format. I have purchased many items from SR in this format. |
Reviewed 3rd August 2019 by Julie The plants just bolted very quickly, had very little harvest from the plants at all. |
