I hope I have not said it too often with the new introductions in this catalogue, but this truly is one of my favourite discoveries of our trials last year. I always loved Tiger's Eye stones as a girl and I love these sultry, exotic, glamorous viola flowers just as much.

They make some of the best-ever small table centre pot fillers, and are truly marvellous cut and arranged in mini glasses, for scattering all around the house. Prolifically cut-and-come-again, these keep on flowering for months at a stretch almost whenever you sow them.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow indoors, cover seeds lightly with fine grit or compost. Spring sowings should flower during early summer, summer and autumn sowings will flower later. Plant out in autumn or spring into fertile, well-drained soil and water in well. Ideal for containers and edging paths to soften the edges.
Care Tips Incorporate a slow-release fertiliser or give a balanced liquid feed every 2-3 weeks. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and maintain a compact shape. If plants become leggy, a mid-season chop in July to 5cm (2in) above ground-level will help promote bushy re-growth.
