Grow Helenium and Salvia together for stunning purple and deep-orange floral borders.
This collection includes 1 or 3 plants each of:
- Helenium 'Moerheim Beauty' – my long-standing favourite Helenium with conkerbrown crimson flowers. I cut one third of the stems back to two thirds their height in June to prolong their flowering through summer into autumn.
- Salvia nemorosa 'Ostfriesland' – a classic summer salvia, with deep purple flowers over strong, bushy clumps of deep green leaves and it flowers for ages.
Keep moist until established and apply a liquid feed fortnightly through the summer. Deadhead flowers regularly to encourage repeat flowering all summer long.
