Description
One of my favourite small trees which looks like a bay (with smaller leaves) all spring and summer and then in the autumn, it starts to flower with mini lily-of-the-valley bells, followed by dazzling red and orange fruit. The plant takes a while to settle in and then flowers its socks off and is also stunning and long-lasting, a bough or two picked for the house and if you have enough, added to your Christmas wreath.
The fruits are edible and can be used to make jams and preserves.
Care Tips
To achieve the best display of fruit, foliage and flower grow in an open, sunny position. Avoid pruning this small tree as it may ruin its natural shape.
