This is the key to success with any wildflower meadow. It is parasitical on grasses and so weakens them, giving wild flowers a chance to compete and gradually establish themselves.

Rather than going to the hassle of removing the topsoil, this is what I've used in my new mini wild flower meadow at Perch Hill. Sow it fresh in the autumn, straight into scarified patches of bare earth and then let it self-sow. Full sowing and mowing instructions will be sent with your order.

Didn't germinate, despite three sowings, one of which was after refrigeration.

Sown in clear beds and also in pots. The seeds in the cleared areas of my wild flower meadow germinated well and produced good flowers early in the spring. Disappeared now but I'm hoping that they will self seed next year.
