An easy, large cherry tomato you can grow inside or out. We do a second sowing of this for planting inside. All the fruit ripen on the vine at the same time, so you can roast them still on their vine.
If kept frost free, and the tips not pinched out, it crops until November. Its smaller fruit will ripen even when light levels are low.
Please note, illustrated packets are being introduced gradually over the coming months, availability may vary.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Sow under cover at end of Jan-March for planting out in April/May. Transplant seedlings into 9cm (3.5in) pots and grow on in a glasshouse (or a well-lit windowsill), once roots have filled these, transplant into 2 litre pots to grow on. When the first flowers begin to show their yellow colouring plants should be ready to plant into their final positions. For unheated greenhouses, final planting can take place in mid-spring. For growing outside, gradually acclimatise plants to outdoor conditions before planting out in early summer. When planting into ground, add plenty of compost or well-rotted manure prior to planting and create a shallow circular reservoir around the plant to help retain water or use Ring Culture Pots. Leave 60-90cm (24-36in) between each plant and plant them deep, sinking them to a depth of 0.5cm below the seed leaves. For containers, use a large pot (minimum 5 litres) and fill with a good quality, peat-free compost. For Grow Bags, allow two plants per bag. |
Care Tips | Under cover or outside they need staking, regular watering and weekly feeding for best results. Water the soil, not the plant, tomato leaves and stems dislike getting wet. Pinch out the tops once they have set 5 or 6 trusses. You also need to pinch out any shoots that develop between the stem and main branches as they divert valuable energy from the developing fruits. Companion planting works well with tomatoes. Try basil underneath as a sacrificial planting – white fly is drawn to it rather than your tomatoes – or try garlic, nasturtiums or tagetes to repel aphids. Storing | Tomatoes can be kept at room temperature for 4-5 days (they will lose their flavour if kept in the fridge), and will freeze well. |
Harvesting | Cordons fruit over a long period. You should be picking tomatoes in July and continue harvesting from the cordons until November. |
Cooking Notes | Delicious eaten raw, roasted or cooked in Mediterranean dishes. |
