Make this the year you grow your own flowers. Keep picking these annuals and they will produce flowers for you to have in vases all over the house.
This carefully planned selection of cut flower seedlings will produce 3-4 vases of flowers a week, from June until October. This is brilliant value and an easy and hugely rewarding thing to grow.
You will need at least 3.5m x 4m of space in the garden in sun. Full instructions and planting plan included.

Hardy Annual Cutting Patch Collection reviews
Reviewed 1st August 2019 by Sheila Purchase and service fine |
Reviewed 1st August 2019 by Gabriella No salvias, calendula(!), malope, euphorbia, or scabious. A couple of the sweet peas, and one of the sunflowers have grown. Excellent cerinthe and eschscholzia. I think I may stick to seedlings next year. |
Reviewed 31st July 2019 by Michelle
Out of the different packets of seeds in the collection 7 were very successful and have been growing vigorously, however, try as I might - I could not get the euphorbia seeds to do anything. I tried them at different sowing points, indoor and outdoor sowing but no luck. |
So rewarding .. thank you for the idea!
Reviewed 11th September 2018 by Ann Stephens I sowed this collection for the first time this year in SR jiffy pellets and the results have been astonishing! I had never grown flowers for cutting before. I had raised beds built according to Sarah’s lovely design plan, though I did have to draw it to scale on squared paper. I added Cosmos Purity, some Ammi, Cornflowers and Dahlia Cactus mix for more variety and I still can’t cut flowers fast enough .. there are so many. It’s 11 September. Thank you Sarah for introducing me to growing flowers for cutting .. it’s given me so much pleasure and my neighbours are grateful too as they can come and help themselves.. there has been such abundance despite the awful furnace summer. |
Glorious!!
Reviewed 13th June 2018 by Ruth Etches I have just cut my first flowers from the 'cutting patch' and nothing has made me so happy in a long time! I was a little dubious about how I would feel about growing flowers to then cut, but I have enjoyed the process immensely and LOVED going out into my garden for a first 'snip' this morning. Not all the flowers are out yet so they will look even better when they are, but the colours are superb and I am going to derive so much enjoyment out of them - inside and out! Sarah - your cutting patch should be a mental health prescription! |
Reviewed 8th August 2017 by Marion McMillan I simply love the way Sarah suggests colours and flowers together. I haven't come across any other catalogue with such winning combinations and inspirations. My Cosmos have been superb and I have so enjoyed them. Thank you, Sarah. |
Healthy plants
Reviewed 11th May 2016 by Lynne Brunot Seedlings arrived incredibly healthy specimens, carefully and sensibly packaged so no damage during shipping. Popped them into the prepared patch and they are growing on very nicely, even after a couple of hard frosts. Looking forward to masses of flowers. |
