THE winter window box or table centre flower to cheer all the way through the winter into late spring. This is a tough, hardy, reliable stalwart, and super-pretty with it. We grow this every year at Perch Hill to have by our winter doorstep.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow under cover March to May, sow thinly in pots or trays of seed compost; do not cover. Keep moist and warm. Germination can be slow and erratic. Transplant seedlings as they emerge to further trays or pots of compost and grow on in frost free conditions. Transplant to final positions the following spring where it will flower May to July.
Care Tips Matt-forming, evergreen perennials are ideal for containers, rock gardens or ground cover at the front of a border. Ensure good drainage. Cut back after flowering.
