My favourite edible flower – delicate petals of purple, cream and yellow to decorate salads and puddings. Can be sown and grown almost any month of the year.

Spacing Plant out when seedlings are about 2.5cm (1in) tall, 15cm (6in) apart.
Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow under cover in seed trays or gutters in March and September. Direct sow April-August.
Care Tips Will self-sow.
Flowering Almost all year.
Vase Life This should last 7-10 days in a vase.
Harvesting Flower production: 4 months - keep picking and they will keep flowering.
Cooking Notes These flowers are edible, and are fantastic on top of a salad or as a cake decoration.

Good seed and flowering plant, very small plant even now, but maybe due to weather conditions.

Really very easy to grow and they look so pretty in my terracotta bowl. I will certainly be using them in salads, simply gorgeous.
