Hibiscus acetosella 'Mahogany Splendor'

I am always on the lookout for plants which are brilliant for foliage - in the garden, in containers and as a cut flower and this is one of those. Hibiscus 'Mahogany' is a great new discovery.

Description

We’ve grown this for a few years as a foliage filler for rich-coloured pots and love it, but last summer, we experimented with it as a cut-flower foliage and it shot straight to the top of my favourites list with its airy, elegant, acer-like leaves right through summer and autumn. It’s cut-and-come-again, unlike an acer, so you can safely pick away.

Care Tips

Does best in containers if kept consistently moist.
