Description

A multi-purpose edible and ornamental plant with soft textured, tasty basal leaves in spring and early summer, delicious in salads.

I also grow Atriplex hortensis as an ornamental plant, when left to grow to full size, flower and seed it looks beautiful. I then pick it to arrange with dahlias, euphorbias and zinnias or any late summer or autumn flowers.

Please note, illustrated packets are being introduced gradually over the coming months, availability may vary.

Care Tips

Grow in well-drained soil in full sun, water freely in dry weather. May require support. Remove seedheads if you do not want it to self-sow or leave them in place for the birds.
