Sowing, Seeds, Planting Before planting bare root roses, soak roots in a bucket of water for at least two hours. Prune any damaged roots and dig a hole 30-45cm (12-18in) deep and 60cm (24in) wide. Roses like heavy compact soil, so be sure to heel them in well. To aid quick establishment, sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base of the planting hole.
Care Tips Water generously until established, and add fertiliser each spring. Prune lightly in late summer, once it has finished flowering.

Arrived in good condition, but has struggled to thrive. Has had a few flowers which are now over ( July). Pruned lightly and fed.

I am waiting for the first buds to open. As it is only in its first year I am not expecting a mass of flowers: some of the new growth is 'blind'. I saw this rose in another garden centre last Summer and thought I must have it! I know it will only get better.
