Description

If I was only allowed to take one winter-flowering perennial to a desert island, it would be this. It flowers from November to March (followed perfectly by it’s brother H. b. ‘Merlin’) to give the most elegant, stylish and reliable cut flowers, and rich saucer blooms for growing in dappled shade. It’s pewter-green, crimson leaves are handsome too.

Unlike most of its family, once it has dropped its stamens, sear the stems ends in boiling water for 15 seconds and it will never flop in the vase, and then lasts for over 10 days. I absolutely love it.

Care Tips

The leaves on this evergreen variety are a worthwhile feature, don’t remove them as you would with other Hellebores
