Many of us know and love the white and soft pink gauras, but we’ve now fallen for this one at Perch Hill, equally long-flowering, pretty, easy and airy, with flowers in rich, deep pink, and foliage and stems washed with crimson.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Surface sow indoors from late winter to early spring onto moist well-drained seed compost and place somewhere warm. Once germinated transplant into 9cm pots and grow on before planting out. In late spring choose a planting spot with fairly dry, well-drained soil that is poor to moderately fertile. Full sun is essential as is protection from winter wet.
Care Tips Gauras are easy as long as you remember that they are prairie plants from a warm place, mulching helps to protect from severe winters. Mature gauras do not move well. The dark spots that appear on their narrow leaves are normal. Large clumps can be divided in spring.
