Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Plant in deep, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Give them space to establish as echinacea do not like to be crowded and avoid damp spots. Incorporate plenty of organic matter, such as well-rotted manure or garden compost, into the soil before planting. Sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base of the planting hole and water well. |
Care Tips | Echinacea do not like to be crowded, give them space to establish in your garden and avoid winter wet spots and heavy mulching over crowns in winter. Once planted, they are best left alone — they do not transplant well. Deadhead to encourage flowering into the autumn after the main August-September season. Propagate by rooting cuttings from late autumn to early winter. |
