We've just planted a swathe of this in the new farmhouse garden at Perch Hill, in the shade by our old apple tree. It has scented flowers in autumn, preceeded by elegant crimson leaves all spring and summer.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Plant away from direct sunlight and keep moist. To aid quick establishment, sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base of the planting hole. Displays are much more effective planted in groups of 3. |
