More Details

Narcissus Paperwhite 'Ziva' is a pure white, highly fragrant, multi-headed daffodil that makes a classic winter house plant. Place one pot on top of another – like a tiered wedding cake – for a spectacular winter table centrepiece.

These bulbs have been specially prepared for growing indoors. You may notice a small green shoot coming out of the bulb when you receive them – this is the first sign of growth and the shoot should not be removed. For best results, the bulbs should be planted as soon as possible after arrival. Plant the bulbs just below the soil surface, pointy end up, with 5-8cm between each bulb. Keep them at room temperature and they will flower in around 4-6 weeks. Use a loam-based compost, lightened with some grit. Keep the compost moist but not dripping wet. Use a decorative nest of twigs to support them as they grow to keep them from flopping. If you don’t want to plant your bulbs straight away, we recommend they are kept somewhere cool and dark (like an outdoor shed or garage) at around 15°C. They can be kept in the fridge for a brief period, if temperatures are particularly mild.

Just five bulbs planted a couple of months ago are making a lovely display in my living room at the moment. Taller and more impressive than I was expecting.
