Sowing, Seeds, Planting Clematis need moisture-retentive, but well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. Keep the base of the plant and the roots cool and shaded, by carefully positioning other plants, or put a layer of pebbles or flat stones at the base. Make sure you plant this with a method of support, and tie it in as it grows. This variety is virtually tendril-free, so won't entwine itself around an obelisk or trellis, you'll have to give it a hand.
Care Tips Group 1 - Tidy after flowering. Read Sarah's article for more information on how to prune clematis. This is a vigorous climber, and will need to be positioned against a wall or support, and is likely to need tying in.

Delivered in good condition, C.Armani AppleBlossom has already thrown out two new healthy shoots which have shiny bronze leaves. As it is evergreen and blooms in early spring I look forward to the first of next year's pinky-white
blossoms.

Not sure this one has found its feet, which is a pity because I was anticipating it going like the clappers. Nice plant when it arrived, so this very likely to a site issue, not a Sarah Raven one. Really hope it picks up as I do love an Armandii and this one sounds like it will smell wonderful when it flowers.

Not looking very good but might be due to hard winds this year. Leaves shrivelled up, some have gone yello in spite of watering and feeding.
