I love the asarinas which climb up and cascade down, so they are brilliant for covering walls and fences and as an abundant softener for containers and summer pots flowing down the sides. This one is a rich purple-pink.

Sowing, Seeds, Planting Sow indoors Feb-April. Surface sow onto seed compost and cover with vermiculite. Light is needed for germination so cover with a transparent bag. Germination should happen after a fortnight. Transplant established seedlings into individual pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Acclimatise and plant out after danger of frost has passed.
Care Tips Prefers a sandy, fertile soil which is moist but well-drained in full sun. Water regularly. Will tolerate partial sun.

Slow to germinate but once they got going they quickly clambered upwards. However they have yet to flower and it is now mid August.
