Sowing, Seeds, Planting | Plant fifteen corms every couple of weeks to give a succession of flowers through the summer and autumn. If you have heavy soil start them off in containers in early spring, put them somewhere bright and cold, but frost-free, and water. Wait for them to shoot and plant them out in the garden from May onwards, by which time you’ll have well established plants. |
Care Tips | Water regularly during growing season and stake tall varieties. Lift after first frosts. If you're growing in containers, stop watering at the end of summer and bring the pots indoors for the winter. Leave them in their pots or take them out and dry. Put them out again next spring after danger of night frosts has passed. Find out more advice about how to plant and grow gladioli corms. |
Flowering | July - October (3 months from planting) |
Vase Life | Remove the basal leaves and add a drop of bleach or clear vinegar to the water. Change water regularly, adding fresh bleach or vinegar each time. |
Storing | Lift when the leaves turn yellow/brown; snap the corms from the stems, dust with sulphur or dip in fungicide, dry for two weeks then snap the new corms from the old and discard the old corms. They must be kept cold (frost-free) and dry until replanting. |

Good service BUT not one of the bulbs has produced a flower-just masses of foliage! Some were in pots, some in the earth- they all had every chance. |

Reviewed 21st November 2018 by Stephanie Gorgeous colours and healthy corms. Would not plant them quite as late as suggested as some of them were cut down by frost when in full flower. |
