Description

The late spring candelabra bulb, which flowers all through May and June — and like its cousin, the allium, has splendid architectural seedheads and is a magnet for bees and butterflies. This grows happily in shade. Will self-sow.

Allium petals are edible, you can scatter them on salads. We use the more delicate types like cowanii and unifolium most often at Perch Hill.

Care Tips

Self seeds freely and can be a little invasive so take care where you plant them.
