Cultivation
Plant the bulbs with the point facing upwards, 20cm deep approx 20-30cm apart. Protect new growth from slugs and snails. Once they have finished flowering, leave them to die back naturally to help bulk up the bulbs for next year.

These statuesque fritillaries grow well in dappled shade and last for decades. I fell on this one last year for its soft terracotta colouring and early flowering.
