Description

This is a tiny crocus, its three outer petals’ exterior brushed with dark, mahogany crimson which runs on down the stem, opening to the brilliant gold-orange of the three inner petals. The contrast between these two blocks of colour looks fantastic in splendid isolation in a pot, and in grass. It’s a very early flowerer from February, one of the reasons I love it — its tiny trumpets showing up clearly with the grass still short.

Care Tips

Can be naturalized easily in grass but wait until the foliage has died down in June to cut the grass.
