Sow in the autumn for best results, in shallow pans in light soil under a cold frame. Grow seedlings on until large and strong enough to be planted outdoors into its final position in the garden. Choose a spot with fairly dry, well-drained soil that is poor to moderately fertile. Full sun is essential as is protection from winter wet. This also grows well in container pots.
Care Tips The seedheads are a valuable feature so leave a few to use over winter. Avoid root disturbance.

Vase Life Give eryngiums a long drink in deep water. They should last for 2 weeks. Or dry in time for your Christmas table.
