Cooking on the fire with Gill Meller

Gill is a marvellous chef - some of my favourite and most memorable meals have been cooked by him. Living in Dorset, near the beach, Gill is an expert on cooking on the fire. He'll coach us on the key skills to turn veg, fish and meat into incredible feasts on fire, barbeque and wood fired oven, demo-ing recipes and tell us what to do - and not do. We will then sit down to a 3 course, predominantly fire-cooked feast. I can't wait! More

Gill Meller is a chef, writer, food stylist and cookery teacher. He has been part of the River Cottage team for more than 12 years, working closely with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. Gill is the author of two books in the River Cottage Handbook series, 'Pigs & Pork' and 'Outdoor Cooking', and is also the author of two solo cookbooks, 'Gather' and 'Time'. He lives in Dorset wih his family. Gill has been a regular teaching and cookery demonstrator at Perch Hill.
