Introduced by Albéric Barbier in 1860, this award-winning rose begins as pale yellow buds which open out into fully double, quartered creamy blooms. The leaves are glossy and dark green, and stay on the plant for much of the year. All rose petals are edible. As you might expect, they have a mild, floral taste and can be used to decorate cakes, puddings or baking. They are also a beautiful, scented addition to jugs of iced cordial or summer cocktails.
