Description
THE invaluable May-flowering rose which drapes and cascades down the tower at Sissinghurst, invaluable for its powderpuff flowers in golden primrose in the May flower and colour gap of many gardens.
All rose petals are edible. As you might expect, they have a mild, floral taste and can be used to decorate cakes, puddings or baking. They are also a beautiful, scented addition to jugs of iced cordial or summer cocktails.
Care Tips
Before planting bare root roses, soak roots in a bucket of water for at least 2 hours. Dig a hole that will accommodate the root ball comfortably and, to aid establishment, sprinkle mycorrhizal fungi (Rootgrow) into the base before planting.
